As a rule of thumb, about 10 bin bags fill one cubic yard. Heavy waste like soil and rubble needs an 8 yard skip or smaller so it's safe to lift.
Bigger job? We also run 18 to 40 yard roll-on, roll-off skips, priced on haulage and tonnage.

What our customers say
Great service from Cheddar & Wells Skips from the initial phone call right through to the delivery driver. The whole process was smooth, professional, and friendly, with excellent communication throughout. A reliable and efficient service that I would happily recommend.
Ordered a skip through Cheddar & Wells for a small house clearance earlier this year. Really easy to order and the team were super friendly. Delivery and collection was well organised and they even accommodated our awkward driveway! I would definitely recommend...
Staff very helpful, ensured the skips were booked and provided on time. Driver super nice, despite tricky reverse along driveway, dropped skips in good place to load. Collection as arranged. Would recommend.
Such a pleasure to do business with. So polite and helpful and did everything that they said they would. Definitely deal with the company again
Excellent service. Prompt, no fuss, picked up full skip within two days of notice.

How soon can I get a skip?
Usually the next working day if you book before 3pm and we have that size free. When you check your price, the earliest day shown is the soonest we can come. We deliver Monday to Friday.

Not if the skip goes on your drive or other private land. A skip on the road needs a council permit, which we arrange for you. Allow up to 10 working days; the permit lasts 28 days.
How long can I keep the skip?
Standard hire is 14 days, with a daily charge after that. Filled it early? Book a collection online and we'll pick it up sooner.
What can't go in a skip?
Fridges and freezers, gas bottles, tyres, tree roots, paint, oil and asbestos. Mattresses and bagged plasterboard can go in for an extra charge. See the full list.
